A random hippogryph that pranced onto my sketchpad. The main thing I'm playing with here is colour. It was interesting to go to a palette I'm less familiar with. I also tried to do less generic lighting which didn't work and I just gave up on it. Truthfully, it was just a bit of a playful piece where I wasn't trying very hard. I can't be bothered fixing it and probably never will. Yeah... I kind of like floofiness :)

Because canines (and pencils) are severely under-represented in my artwork. Playing with my new prismacolours. There's also some silver pen and glitter here that didn't quite show up. I know there's some mistakes here, but I was just letting the pencils dictate where they wanted to go.

This is my attempt at realism, and I will be trying to do that a lot more. I made this with a field guide to raptors of the world, and several of my store-bought toys to help me. I have to figure out a better way to get it to stand on its own. I know the leg/tail configuration is a bit wonky, and will fix that next time to get it to balance better. The tail should probably be a bit longer too. Now that I've mastered the sitting quadruped and the perching raptor, guess what I'm going to try next? ;)

I picked up yet another May GAX adoption, this time Talika who belongs to Foxymalone. She is a raven/snow leopard gryphon. 15cm tall, 45cm from beak to tail. The wings are nice and soft, so can be folded or spread open.

This is what happens after a really really boring Parasitology lecture. I guess it's funnier when you've been subjected to hours of lectures/videos about the wonders of the cattle tick. It's sort of two injokes rolled into one. We always joked about the critters we find in Veterinary Parasitology being really scary Pokemon with various horrifying moves, and we came up with them to help us learn. I don't think anyone thought I'd actually get around to doing it though. Demodex (eyelash mite) is soo next. Followed by some form of tapeworm. :D I think I'd run away if someone threw even a normal sized cattle tick at me. A giant one would involve lots of flailing.
